Calypso Hotel - Sunny Beach

The spacious double room offered great amenities, but noise from the terrace was disruptive.

The rooms are big and the hotel is relatively new.

The breakfast is not related to a 4 star hotel. The tables were not clean. The food was low quality: no butter (only margarine), old bread, the eggs were cold, bad tasting soft drinks

We chose this hotel for the free wifi and the good reviews on this website. The reviews were well deserved, we had an excellent room and equally excellent service. It is not at all far from the beach, unless you are hopelessly idle and have an issue walking for 10 minutes. Else a bit of attention is needed when crossing the street, zebras are rare in that resort. The location is great because it benefits of both the nice sandy beach and a close proximity to Nessebar. That is The place to go for dinner and sight-seeing. Breakfast was more than ok. We enjoyed our time at Calypso and in my case especially the massage at the spa center by Mrs. Ivanka, it was a wonderful treat!

The wireless was weak in the room but one mus admit it was still usable.

The spacious double room had a private balcony that offered a pleasant view. It was equipped with a tv and air conditioning. The pool area was large and kept clean daily.

Sound from the terrace carried into my room, which disrupted my evenings and made it hard to relax. The Wi-Fi was consistently erratic. I struggled to stay connected in my room and only had decent access in reception. The food selection was overly repetitive. After several days, it reminded me of I was having the same four or five dishes over and over. A disturbing fly situation around the dining area also made meals less enjoyable. The walk to the main drag of town was about thirty minutes, which might not be ideal for everyone, though I didn't mind it too much. Lastly, when I wanted to extend my stay for a few hours, I faced a challenge in securing a room despite there being availability elsewhere, which could have made my last day a bit smoother.

The animation team, especially Peter, really made our stay enjoyable by getting everyone involved in activities.

The kids loved the ice cream available throughout the day, and we appreciated the spacious family room. And a beach nearby was a great bonus, and having our dogs with us.

My kids wished there were more evening activities for families.

The double room balcony was super spacious with a great view. It had all the essentials like air conditioning, a tv, and a private bathroom with free toiletries. Love the outdoor pools, especially the kids' pool. Ice cream is available all day, which my kids adored! The dining area offers snacks like pizza and fresh salads often.

The entertainment options were a blast, especially the water polo! The kids adored the all-day ice cream, such a sweet treat!

The staff was lovely with always a smile, and the entire hotel was super clean indoors. The pool area was clean, and it was refreshing to grab ice creams every day.

The room was barely bearable with noise from the terrace, and don't even get me started on the moody receptionist who clearly didn't know what a smile was, also the lack of wifi was a real bummer. I was really hoping for a complimentary gesture for all this discomfort, but guess that's too much to ask. Just couldn't give a good review, honestly.
